Abstract The major purpose of the study was to determine Nutrition and Academic Performance of Learners in Selected Early Childhood Centres in Kiharu Division Murcmg'a District Kenya. The .1pecific objectives of the study were to investigate the impact of nutrition on academic pe1formance of early childhood, to determine the impact of Nutrition on the healthy development of children and to determine the impact of nutrition on enrolment and attendance of children in schools in Selected Early Childhood Centres in Kiharu DivisiOll Murang'a District Kenya The methods used/or data collection were questionnaires to the teacher and interviews with the parents !71e stu,(r revealed !hat Poor nutrition affects the academic performance of early childhood, Poor nutrition leads to lack of concentration in class, Poor Nutrition leads to lack of morale in studies, Good nutrition is essential for good educational outcomes and Proper nutrition, health care, and stimulation during the early years improve learning and other abilities The study revealed that Nutrition is essential for growth and development, health, and wellbeing, Poor nutrition during the first 3 years often penna11ently hampers a child's melltal development, Poor mrlritirm leads to other diseases and Poor nutrition lead, to obesi(V !lie stud}· revealed that poor ni leads to 1m,mq. l11 In this case, children do not attendant school o miss classes cause they are hungry. ( 'hi!dre11 also miss school due to sickness cause by poor nutrition.
